1. Destination North-East 2020

Union Minister Amit Shah announced an incredible initiative relating to north-east tourism. Project ‘Destination North East 2020’ will showcase the region’s culture, tourism, and heritage. The theme for the year is the Emerging Delightful Destinations In his address, the Union Home Minister said that the North East is entirely capable of becoming a major center of world tourism and that it is full of great natural beauty, folk culture, and art. 2. Goa’s Dudhsagar Waterfalls opens for jeep safari from October 2

This magnificent waterfall between the states of Karnataka and Goa finally opens to trekkers from October 2. In addition, jeep safaris to the waterfalls would also open soon. As per the statistics, about 10000 tourists visited the Dudhsagar Waterfalls in 2019. A large part of the crowd to Dudhsagar Waterfalls comes from Bengaluru and Mumbai. 3. White water rafting begins in Rishikesh

River rafting has resumed for the public in Rishikesh. The reports have been confirmed by the Uttarakhand Tourism on social media on September 26. River rafting in Rishikesh is, by far, one of the most popular tourist attractions and the state is gearing up to welcome the tourists again. Read the full story here.

4. Odisha is all set to offer new experiences in the post-COVID world

The launch of the ‘Odisha By Road’ campaign on World Tourism Day will see the promotion of some beautiful yet not so popular places of attraction which would be facilitated by the Tourism Department. As many as 15 itineraries with indicative camping destinations have been prepared for the campaign. The itineraries cover hill-stations, tribal hinterlands, beaches, eco-tourism sites, nature camps, and experiences like cuisine, heritage, adventure, ethnic encounters, arts and handicrafts, leisure, wildlife, and ecotourism. 5. Now quarantine for just 24 hours in Assam

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Assam has reduced the quarantine period of passengers coming to the state from 10 days to 24 hours. People coming to Assam will undergo RT-PCR tests and will now be given test results within 24 hours. In fact, anyone who has recovered from COVID-19 and is coming to the state (Assam) will not be required to undergo quarantine or testing on arrival. Read more.
